PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

·  Project manager and architect for the setup a seven cluster node staging and production environments. This converted objects from 3.1 system to 4.5 BOBJ. Over 5000 objects and 3000 users were converted and promoted. Designed the security model based on SAP BW and LDAP authentication.

·  Project manager for the setup of DataServices 4.0 transformation jobs which pulled from Oracle EDW and SAP BW databases and moved into HANA database. Also developed the reconciliation jobs which verified data accuracy.

·  Responsible for the relationship and support from SAP on a contract with Medtronics Corp.

·  Work with Senior Business leaders to design and get specifications for analytical reports and dashboards.

·              Senior Manager of Business Intelligence at Sara Lee Corporation for two plus years.

o       Implemented SAP Netweaver 7.0 and EP Portal and built the BI strategy. The roll out included 165 reports with 400+ users via the EP portal. This was a two year project which converted the ERP system from JD Edwards to SAP modules and SAP BW.

o       Upgraded Hyperion planning systems to 9.3.1 and consolidated 7 planning systems into the 9.3.1 cluster.

·              Manager of Business Intelligence and Datawarehouse initiative at General Cable Corp for five years. Comprised of 12 star schema designed datamarts. Linked through Business Objects universes. Supports Sales, Finance, Sourcing, Operations and Transportation. Each datamart was built to solve a particular business problem and grows as needed.

o       Sales datamart has increased current customer revenue and retention by looking at products bought historically which have declined or they stopped purchasing. We were able to renegotiate price or substitute similar product lines. In the second year the sales revenue increased by 12%.

·              Implemented on SQL Server star schema datawarehouse starting with Sales group. There are currently eleven datamarts and two MOLAP cubes supporting the manufacturing business. It covers US, Mexico and Canada.

o       This system was able to bring in the GL accounts from our international plants so we could be compliant with a SARBOX audit.

·              Implemented CA Advantage ETL tool for data transformations from AS\400 ERP and Financial systems into datawarehouse.

·              Implemented Business Objects BI tool. Currently run XIr2, client, BCA, Supervisor, Designer and OLAP connections. We currently have 1200 reports in the corporate repository using 72 universes and we push out through email 800 reports a week. Started with version 2.7, 6.0, 6.52 and implemented XIr2. Configured the servers via the CMC. SQL Server 2005 DB size 2.5 terabytes.

·              Developed Analysis Services OLAP cubes from Sales datamart

·              Drove the companies adoption and culture change to the BI system.

·              Wrote custom .NET application so business can schedule and email reports to customers.

·              Manager and lead for the development and implementation of MyGeneralcable.com. We used the Business Objects SDK to develop a module called MyReports. Customer can come to site and get custom drillable reports and schedule them to come in PDF or Excel.

o       This helped with customer service for our top 20 customers. It reduced the Inside sales call volume by 15%.

·              Developed the project methodology used for new reporting projects. From requirements through UAT.

·              Manager of a staff averaging 12 associates during last 6 years.

·              Responsible for all SARBOX compliance and data integrity for datawarehouse.

·              Developed Financial and Sales Dashboard working the business to develop KPI’s and metrics.

·              Developed very complicated reports using custom SQL and VBA code to show associates a 360 degree view of the customers for Inside and Outside Sales.

·              Started monthly training session on report development and universe object (data layout) training.

o       This provided an analysis of the ore grade for potential mining opportunities.

Responsibilities:

Manager and lead analyst on implementation of a data warehouse for global corporate use. Company is the leading manufacturer of cable and wire with revenues at three billon dollars. Datawarehouse was built using SQL Server 2000. The transactional systems it pulled from were AS/400 and BaaN systems across the US, Spain, Mexico, Europe and Canada. The system was complimented with Business Objects Web Intelligence as the BI reporting tool. DecisionBase from CA was used for the transformations and metadata.

Implemented a BtoB extranet site which comprised our catalogue, MyReports, Inventory availability and open Order Status. All the data resided in datamarts in the data warehouse. Currently have eight direct reports.

Information Systems Analyst for BHP Copper/Metals for North America. Responsible for seven site locations throughout North America. Team lead for setting up a centralized mine information center for BHP N.A. This will be a data warehouse using Oracle Express/SQL Server 6.5 & 7.0 that supports all of mine operations, finance, maintenance and commercial groups, I am currently the project leader. Team Lead in setting up an EIS system for maintenance group to track maintenance costs. Information is moved from an AS/400 to a SQL Server then publish reports to an intranet which provides graphs and report detail for project planners.

Prior to the data warehouse I setup transaction systems using Visual Basic, Access with SQL Server as the backend database. Many of these systems we used the PLC directly to input the raw data into SQL Server where it was then rolled up to summarized views for business analysis using SQL Server 7.0 and Essbase.
